Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept dogs on site?

We do indeed!

 

However; There is a lot of wildlife on and around the campsite so we request that dogs are kept on a lead at all times. I'm sure it goes without saying but they must be cleaned up after too!

 

We do allow dogs into our Pixie huts, Bell Tents, Hay Cart and Rent-a-Tents also.

Do you allow group bookings?

Yes, small group bookings of up to 5 pitches together are allowed - any larger groups goes against our booking terms.


We do not accept stag do's, hen do's or large single sex groups.

Do you allow Motorhomes or Caravans?

We do not allow large motorhomes as there are no hard standing pitches.

 

Access to our site can be tight in a larger vehicle, Caravans are welcome however we do not have electric hook up or hard standing pitches.

If you are unsure about the size of your campervan, please contact us.

Are there plug sockets to use?

Yes, but this is only for small use such as recharging phones and laptops/usiing hair straighteners/shavers etc.

 

There are a small number of sockets located in the toilet block and the communal area. We don't advise leaving your phone unattended whilst charging.

There are also solar powered USB charging points within our furnished accomodation.

Do you provide bedding?

We DO NOT provide any bedding other than a bottom sheet on the mattress for our accomodation units.

Is there a nearby shop?

Gislingham Village Stores is only 2 minutes away by car and has a local butchers counter and bakery inside.

 

For a larger shop there are 2 x Co-Ops in the town of Eye and Tescos, Morrisons and Aldi located in Diss.

Is there electric hook up available?

We do not have electric hook up for tents or campervans.

Can I order a supermarket delivery to the site?

This is not an issue, ideally ask the driver to park in the car park and collect the delivery from there if possible.

Is there open water on site?

A stream runs along the bottom of the main camping field with a natural hedge barrier and we also have an unfenced pond next to the Glade camping area.

How do I book and what is the refund policy?

All bookings are taken online.

 

We do not take bookings over the phone or via email.

 

You are booking at your own risk! To book we will be taking a 20% deposit with full payment expected up to 30 days prior to your stay or you can pay in full at the time of booking. We are not able to refund any deposit’s!

 

If you cancel a booking up to 30 days prior to your arrival date we will refund 80% of any FULL payments already made.  No refund will be given after this time, and no transfers of bookings to alternative dates after this time.

Final deposit reminders will be sent but If full payment has not been made 30 days prior to your stay and we have been unable to contact you the booking will be cancelled.

 

No transfers of dates will be made.

You will not be able to cancel at last minute! If you become unwell and unable to turn up for your booking you will have to claim on your own personal holiday insurance which we recommend you taking out. Please check your insurance policy allows for this event, and you are covered by your own personal holiday insurance before you book your stay with us.

All bookings are managed via our Cool Camping booking system and the secure payment system Stripe.

What if I need advice with my booking?

As we are usually busy on site we ask that all questions come via email. We aim to reply as soon as possible within the working week.

Do you have a check in and check out time?

Unless by prior arrangement – check in is after 2pm and no later than 8.00pm please.

 

Check out by midday. On arrival, please park the car in the car park and go to the site office where you will be greeted by David our site warden, if not in the office he may be elsewhere on site and will be with you as soon as possible.

Do you allow campfires?

Yes. Only within our fire pits which are available as an extra when booking.

 

All Wood and kindling has to be purchased from us. 

 

Fires must be managed by the camper and extinguished at the end of the evening. There are fire points around the site.

 

Remember - NEVER TAKE A SMOULDERING FIRE OR BBQ INTO YOUR TENT!!

Do you have WiFi onsite?

Yes. This is available throughout most of the site and is free for all to use. Due to our rural location it is not exeptionally fast but it is ideal for checking emails etc.

There is a guide on the notice board explaining how to connect to the WiFi.

Can I pay by card?

Yes. All common card types are accepted. You can pay by Apple pay and contactless also.

Do you allow music onsite?

An acceptable level of music is allowed, this will be judged by our site manager. We ask for no noise on site between 10pm and 8am.

Do you allow day visitors?

We do allow day visitors but due to restricted parking and the size of site there will be a charge of £5 per car.

 

All day visitors must sign in at reception on arrival.
